Football Game Preview: Ridge Point Panthers vs. North Shore Mustangs + How To Watch

Ridge Point hasn't had much luck against North Shore recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Ridge Point will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Ridge Point is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They snuck past Dawson with a 21-16 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Eagles are ranked 258th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ridge Point's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Akins, who rushed for 107 yards and one TD. Brody Bartee was another key signal caller, throwing for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes.

North Shore never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Deer Park on Friday. They blew past the Deer 49-14. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Deer recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

North Shore's win came from a few key players Ridge Point will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dorian Barnes, who picked up 175 receiving yards and two scores. Hezekiah Johnson was in the mix too, providing North Shore with two TDs.

North Shore was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deer Park only rushed for 128.

Ridge Point's record now sits at 11-0. As for North Shore, their record is now 9-2.

Ridge Point ended up a good deal behind North Shore in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, losing 44-28. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
