Soccer Recap: South Summit Gets the Win

South Summit was handed a three-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Grand County Red Devils 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Summit also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2021.

Asti Card and Sophie Smoot scored both of South Summit's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

The win got South Summit back to even at 3-3. As for Grand County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

South Summit will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maeser Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on September 2. As for Grand County, they have already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Emery on the 26th.
