Softball Recap: Orono Comes Up Short

Orono fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Chaska on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Orono saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stella Oh, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Orono now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Chaska, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Orono is taking a road trip to challenge Waconia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chaska, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
