Baseball Game Preview: Millennium Tigers vs. Westwood Warriors

The Millennium Tigers will head out to take on the Westwood Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Millennium is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Westwood will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Millennium extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand Sunnyslope a 3-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to David Sheppard's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josue Malave was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Westwood came up short against Red Mountain on Thursday, falling 11-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Millennium's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Westwood, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.

Millennium couldn't quite get it done against Westwood when the teams last played back in March of 2018 as they fell 7-3. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
