Baseball Game Preview: Ider Hornets vs. Pisgah Eagles

The Ider Hornets will challenge the Pisgah Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ider is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Ider had taken Sylvania down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Hornets lost 18-3 to the Rams.

Meanwhile, Pisgah had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Section by a score of 9-5 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Brooks Garrett, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Sawyer Davis also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Ider's defeat dropped their record down to 25-12. As for Pisgah, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-10.

Everything went Ider's way against Pisgah in their previous matchup back in March, as Ider made off with a 12-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
