Basketball Recap: Struthers Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Struthers's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They snuck past the Poland Seminary Bulldogs with a 43-39 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 253rd).

Struthers' victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Poland Seminary, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Struthers will head out to square off against Girard at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Poland Seminary, they will head out on the road to challenge Lakeview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
