Volleyball Recap: West Jefferson Comes Up Short

West Jefferson came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Fairbanks Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Roughriders have suffered since September 19, 2024.

West Jefferson took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-10, 25-16.

Julia Beatty paced West Jefferson's offense, picking up 14 kills. Beatty got some help from Maddie Carruthers and her 13 assists.

West Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fairbanks, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

West Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mechanicsburg on the 21st. As for Fairbanks, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against West Liberty-Salem on the 23rd.
