Volleyball Recap: Pendleton County's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Pendleton County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hampshire Trojans. If the Wildcat were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in October of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16.

Brynlyn Waggy paced Pendleton County's offense, picking up four kills. Waggy got some help from Carolyn Varner and her five assists. Colbie Wimer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Hampshire, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-2 record this season.

Pendleton County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Petersburg on the 7th. As for Hampshire, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Moorefield on the 2nd.
