Soccer Game Preview: Merced vs. Atwater

The Merced Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Atwater Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Merced is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Golden Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2.

Santiago Santiago-Hernandez and Cayden Mckain scored both of Merced's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

While Atwater's fans didn't get a definitive result last Friday, they were treated to the team's highest-scoring tie of the season. They and Los Banos finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw. The Falcons had to tread lightly for part of the game as four Atwater players were handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Merced now has a losing record at 5-6-2. With that draw, Atwater's record moves to 5-4-4.
