Baseball Recap: North Miami Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

North Miami let North Judson-San Pierre stack five runs on them in the fifth inning on Monday but luckily North Miami prevailed anyway. The Warriors skirted past the Bluejays 9-8. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ray Pickett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ryan Meredith was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

North Miami kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

North Miami is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for North Judson-San Pierre, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.

North Miami will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bluejays: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
