Softball Recap: Chippewa Comes Up Short

Chippewa started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Waynedale. They fell 17-12 to the Golden Bears on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Chipps in their meetings with the Golden Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Chippewa got a massive performance out of Ashley Tully, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Gartin, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

Chippewa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Waynedale, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-15.

Chippewa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-6 loss against Cuyahoga Heights on the 7th. As for Waynedale, they will square off against Triway at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
