Preview: Hancock Panthers vs. Faith Christian Academy Falcons
The Hancock Panthers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Faith Christian Academy Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Hancock pushed their score all the way to 58, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-58 to Paw Paw. While losing is never fun, Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 292nd in Maryland, while Paw Paw is ranked 62nd in West Virginia).
Despite the defeat, Hancock had strong showings from Jordyn King, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Aiden McCarty, who scored 14 points along with five steals. McCarty hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Jacob Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 victory over Calvary Christian Academy. The win was just what Faith Christian Academy needed coming off of a 63-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Hancock's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Faith Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Hancock ended up a good deal behind Faith Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 65-49. Can Hancock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
