Volleyball Game Preview: Chelsea Red Devils vs. Somerville Highlanders

The Chelsea Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Somerville Highlanders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Chelsea has now lost 12 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since October 15.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Chelsea and Lynn English, and Lynn English kept the tradition alive. The Red Devils fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Somerville hadn't done well against Cambridge Rindge & Latin recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Highlanders put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Chelsea's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Somerville, their record now sits at 8-1.

Chelsea might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Somerville when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
