Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Arrows vs. Leake Central Gators

The Clinton Arrows will welcome the Leake Central Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Clinton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Warren Central. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Arrows came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Vikings are ranked 137th).

Meanwhile, Leake Central had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They blew past the Falcons, posting a 76-42 win. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Leake Central's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.9 points per game. As for Clinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
