Preview: Boiling Springs Bubblers vs. Trinity Shamrocks
Boiling Springs is 1-8 against Trinity since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Boiling Springs Bubblers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trinity Shamrocks at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Boiling Springs can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 64-54 victory over Camp Hill. Given Boiling Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Camp Hill is ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Boiling Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Lucido led the charge by scoring 20 points. That's the first time this season that Lucido scored 15 or more points. Brandon Ascione was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Trinity waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They skirted past New Town 76-73. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Trinity has posted yet this season.
Boiling Springs' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5. As for Trinity, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Boiling Springs beat Trinity 71-62 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Boiling Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trinity turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
