Basketball Recap: Kohelet Yeshiva Falls Despite Big Games from Grant Provda and Chezky Levitt

Kohelet Yeshiva was the 55-52 winner over Mercy Career & Technical when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kohelet Yeshiva took a hard 63-44 fall against Mercy Career & Technical on Tuesday. Kohelet Yeshiva has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kohelet Yeshiva's loss came despite strong showings from Chezky Levitt and Grant Provda. Levitt posted 16 points, while Provda had 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Wallace, who put up six points.

Mercy Career & Technical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Caple led the charge by putting up 22 points. Another player making a difference was Taji Stewart, who earned 21 points.

Kohelet Yeshiva's record now sits at 4-3. As for Mercy Career & Technical, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Kohelet Yeshiva won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kimberton Waldorf at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kimberton Waldorf will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Kohelet Yeshiva surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mercy Career & Technical, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Foundation Collegiate Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
