Basketball Recap: Mid Valley Takes a Loss

Mid Valley lost against Old Forge back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mid Valley Spartans fell 57-44 to the Old Forge Blue Devils.

When it comes to explaining why Mid Valley lost, don't look at Landon Pratt. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-12 to rack up 18 points. The dominant performance gave Pratt a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kaleik Cook, who posted ten points.

Old Forge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Parker out in front who went 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points. Thanks to that strong game, Parker now owns an excellent 55.6% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Fanning, who went 6-for-9 en route to 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Mid Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Old Forge, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

The future could be bright for both Mid Valley and Old Forge: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Mid Valley will look to extend Lakeland's four-game losing streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Old Forge will try to hand Dunmore their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
