Basketball Recap: North Union Drops Season-High Score on Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Union). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks on Monday, sneaking past 69-66. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since February 20, 2024.

North Union is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Looking ahead, North Union is taking a road trip to face off against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union on Thursday. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully North Union likes a good challenge. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
