Basketball Recap: Gaffney Comes Up Short

Gaffney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets on the road by a 61-47 margin. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Fort Mill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wallace Campbell, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Campbell is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. AJ Washington was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fort Mill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Fort Mill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-56 defeat against Boiling Springs on the 6th. Hopefully Gaffney paid attention to the Yellow Jackets' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Yellow Jackets at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
