Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Ridgemont

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ridgemont ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kenton Wildcats, sneaking past 12-11. The win was nothing new for the Golden Gophers as they're now sitting on four straight.

The team relied heavily on Jon Cromer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Woodruff, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Ridgemont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ridgemont's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Kenton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Ridgemont will face off against Lima Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenton, they will take on Bath in a tournament on Wednesday.
