Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls vs. Northwest Knights

Mt. Healthy is 0-8 against Northwest since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Fighting Owls will head out to square off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Mt. Healthy has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mt. Healthy is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Northwest, falling 12-1.

For Northwest's part, Zach Havrilla made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Havrilla was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Wisecarver, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Frey, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Mt. Healthy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Northwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
