Baseball Recap: Liberty Wins Going Away Against El Diamante

Liberty was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against El Diamante on Tuesday. The Liberty Patriots blew past the El Diamante Miners 8-1. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Liberty got a great performance from Cash Gerecke as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Gerecke a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Braden Turman was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Brodie Snow was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Liberty lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Diamante didn't launched any home runs.

Liberty now has a winning record of 3-2. As for El Diamante, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Looking ahead, Liberty will be taking part in a tournament against Tulare Western at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for El Diamante, they have already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against Kingsburg on the 12th.
