JESSENIA MOORE tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. That hit was her first of the season.
At the plate, Temescal Canyon got a massive performance out of BREA TILLERY, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. SAMI OLSON was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Temescal Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .469 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Tahquitz won against West Valley two weeks ago with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Titans' way against San Gorgonio as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.
Lillian Phelps made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Vanessa Garcia and Reyna Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Vanessa scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Reyna went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Reyna has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Suriah Ortiz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Tahquitz now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Temescal Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Temescal Canyon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like Tahquitz struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
