Basketball Recap: Monroe County Beats T.R. Miller for Their Third Straight Win

Monroe County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-48 victory over the T.R. Miller Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-37 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why T.R. Miller lost, don't look at Eli Hubbert. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points Hubbert has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Myles Johnson, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Monroe County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for T.R. Miller, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
