Baseball Game Preview: Rigby Trojans vs. Twin Falls Bruins

The Rigby Trojans will square off against the Twin Falls Bruins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Rigby is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Rigby saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell just short of Vallivue by a score of 8-7.

DJ Boudrero was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Quinn Bennett, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Twin Falls not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024. They blew past Ridgevue 8-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Twin Falls also got a great performance from Kentyn Ketterling as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dalton Carter, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Nolan Lehew was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Twin Falls' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Rigby, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Twin Falls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rigby has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Twin Falls, though, as they've only averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Rigby's hitters?

Rigby might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from Twin Falls in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Can Rigby avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
