Softball Game Preview: Bedford Kicking Mules vs. Saline Hornets

For the first time this season, Bedford will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Saline Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Saline took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bedford, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Bedford needed a bit of extra time to put away Woodhaven. They won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 3-2.

Meanwhile, Saline didn't have quite enough to beat Mercy on Saturday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Marlins: they've now lost three in a row.

Saline saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Rupert, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Casey Griffin also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Bedford might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Saline in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Kicking Mules avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
