Baseball Recap: El Cerrito Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

El Cerrito waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the De Anza Dons with a sharp 11-3 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

William Reddall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Evan Tank looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Reggie Burnham was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Schulz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

El Cerrito hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.
