Baseball Game Preview: Copper Canyon Aztecs vs. Sierra Linda Bulldogs

The Copper Canyon Aztecs will venture away from home to face off against the Sierra Linda Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Copper Canyon came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to Apollo. The Aztecs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Copper Canyon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dariany Flores, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Sierra Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against La Joya Community, falling 15-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Sierra Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Copper Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Copper Canyon took their victory against Sierra Linda when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Copper Canyon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
