Softball Recap: Stevenson Has No Trouble Against Goldendale

While Stevenson put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Goldendale. Stevenson blew past Goldendale 20-0. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Sophia Nordgaard made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cayden Hulsey-Bible was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Rebecca Townsend, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Stevenson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Stevenson and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Goldendale, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Stevenson will venture away from home to challenge Seton Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goldendale, they will welcome La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
