Baseball Recap: Rogers Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central, Rogers was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Waterloo Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Colton Rhodes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Lee, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Rogers' win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Waterloo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Rogers will square off against Summertown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Waterloo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
