Basketball Recap: Athens Academy Takes a Loss

Athens Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Rabun County Wildcats and fell 71-41. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 79-45 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rabun County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Bone, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 20 points. Bone continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Huey Blalock was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 assists.

Athens Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Rabun County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Athens Academy nor Rabun County have any future games scheduled.
