Softball Game Preview: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Sahuaro Cougars

For the second straight game, Walden Grove will face off against Sahuaro. Walden Grove will venture away from home to square off against Sahuaro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Walden Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Walden Grove made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sahuaro, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Walden Grove never let Sahuaro get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Monday. Considering the Red Wolves have won four matchups by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Oliviah Valdez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Natalie Holzer was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Isabel Higuera was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Walden Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Walden Grove back to even at 6-6. As for Sahuaro, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
