Basketball Game Preview: Woods Cross Wildcats vs. Weber Warriors

The Woods Cross Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Weber Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Woods Cross sitting on four straight victories and Weber on five.

Woods Cross is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Skyline, posting an 84-45 win.

Woods Cross got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madden Johnsen out in front who went 7 for 8 on his way to 20 points and seven assists. Those 20 points gave Johnsen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Jackson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists.

Johnsen wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Woods Cross was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Weber strolled past Bonneville with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-44. The match marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season so far.

Woods Cross' record now sits at 5-3. As for Weber, their record now sits at an identical 5-3.

Woods Cross couldn't quite finish off Weber in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 54-51. Can Woods Cross avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
