Preview: King George Foxes vs. Chancellor Chargers

The King George Foxes will be playing at home against the Chancellor Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

King George had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Spotsylvania 63-31 at home on Friday. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point King George had established a 27 point advantage.

Eli Trulow and Aiden Wright were among the main playmakers for King George as the former scored 16 points and the latter scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Pryor, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Chancellor humbled Spotsylvania with a 63-31 victory. Given Chancellor's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Spotsylvania is ranked 424th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chancellor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charles Brown, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Den Mckoy, who scored 11 points.

King George's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Chancellor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: King George have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chancellor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

King George took a serious blow against Chancellor in their previous meeting back in January, falling 60-29. Will King George have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
