Leyden had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Leyden got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 27-25.

Leyden's win bumped their record up to 4-24. As for Nazareth Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-25 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Coming up, Leyden will face off against Niles North at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Nazareth Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Marian Catholic on the 14th.
