Basketball Game Preview: Eaton Rapids Greyhounds vs. Portland Raiders

The Eaton Rapids Greyhounds are taking a road trip to square off against the Portland Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Eaton Rapids was beaten by Olivet 69-37. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Portland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Lansing Catholic by a score of 60-49. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Cougars are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Portland pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Eaton Rapids, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Eaton Rapids came up short against Portland when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 50-39. Can Eaton Rapids avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
