Baseball Recap: Vale Comes Up Short

After flying high against Grant Union last Friday, Vale came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 9-1 to the La Grande Tigers on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since May 13, 2024.

Vale's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for La Grande, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vale will square off against Nyssa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Grande, they will take on Ontario at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Ontario has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.7 runs per game on average), something La Grande will no doubt try to take advantage of.
