Softball Recap: North Valley Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

North Valley and South Umpqua pushed the score to 12-10 the last time they played South Umpqua, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lancers a 2-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Lancers on their field since March 21, 2016.

North Valley pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for South Umpqua, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Valley will square off against Marshfield at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Umpqua, they will head out to challenge North Bend at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
