Football Game Preview: Wilson Prep Tigers vs. Tarboro Vikings

The Wilson Prep Tigers will take on the Tarboro Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Wilson Prep sitting on ten straight victories and Tarboro on eight.

Wilson Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-17 win over Lakewood.

Wilson Prep's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Jordan Hamm was especially locked on to Lakewood's QB and sacked him three times.

Meanwhile, Tarboro got themselves on the board against Pender on Friday, but Pender never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Patriots 50-0. Considering the Vikings have won 11 games by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Mason Satterfield and Caiden Everette. Satterfield rushed for 121 yards on only six carries while Everette rushed for 109 yards on only ten carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 64 yards.

Tarboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 373 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in ten consecutive contests.

Tarboro wouldn't let Pender keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Tyler Powell was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.

Wilson Prep's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Tarboro, their record now sits at 12-1.

Friday's matchup might be decided in the on the ground. Wilson Prep has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 355.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tarboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 306.1 rushing yards. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
