Basketball Recap: Anclote Victorious

Anclote's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Pasco Pirates with a 52-46 win. This was a revenge game for the Sharks: when they faced off against the Pirates back in December of 2024, they had to take a 67-44 defeat.

Anclote had a senior duo take command as Kalen Dean went 5 of 7 to rack up 15 points and Kevin Cote went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points. Dean is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Norbert Krauz also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Pasco lost, don't look at Zion DeJesus. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points and six steals. That's the most steals DeJesus has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Miller, who went 6 of 10 to rack up 13 points.

Anclote's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Pasco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Anclote wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-38 win against Hudson on the 3rd. As for Pasco, they have also already played their next game, an 83-66 loss against River Ridge on the 3rd.
