Shawnee Mission Northwest waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the De Soto Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted against the Wildcats since September 30, 2017.

Shawnee Mission Northwest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 25-17.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isabel Galmarini, who had 11 digs and one assist. Kylie Groves was another key player, getting 14 assists and six digs.
