Recap: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. Pine Forest Eagles
Even though the Pine Forest Eagles scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Choctawhatchee Indians still came out on top. Choctawhatchee came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Forest and snuck past 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Choctawhatchee has posted yet this season.
Choctawhatchee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Pitts led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds. Tristan Jackson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Pine Forest's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Marco Stallworth, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, and J?Kosi Black who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Black continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Maurice Smith, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Choctawhatchee and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Pine Forest, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Choctawhatchee will be playing in front of their home fans against Escambia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Forest, they will head out on the road to challenge Foley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foley is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home.
