Soccer Recap: Plainfield East Victorious

Plainfield East saw some tournament action on Monday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bengals who were credited with the victory. The Plainfield East Bengals got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings's three. Kessiah Purnell had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Plainfield East.

Plainfield East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matches. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5-1.

Looking ahead, Plainfield East is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they will take on Lincoln-Way Central at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
