Baseball Recap: Enterprise Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Enterprise nor Dothan made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wildcats walked away with a 9-6 win over the Wolves. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won eight in a row.

Brady Richardson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Davis Shiver was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mikey Vanderheyden, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Enterprise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Enterprise's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Dothan, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-10.

Enterprise will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair will be back at it again later today.
