Softball Recap: Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association Drops Highest Score of Season Against Woodson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association). Everything went their way against the Woodson Cavaliers on Monday as they made off with a 19-2 win. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Reagan Litchford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Knicely, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Litchford wasn't the only one making solid contact: Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The Patriots are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Woodson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association will be taking part in a tournament against Bishop McNamara at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodson, they will welcome Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
