Basketball Recap: Lake Region Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lake Region won the last time they faced Fort Meade, and Emondre Wilson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lake Region Thunder put the hurt on the Fort Meade Miners with a sharp 66-41 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Wilson, who went 10 for 14 en route to 23 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Lynkon Ricks was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Fort Meade's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Clark, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Omari Russell, who had five points along with seven boards and four steals.

Lake Region's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-16. As for Fort Meade, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Lake Region has already played their next match, a 47-37 victory against Mulberry on the 25th. As for Fort Meade, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-39 win against Hardee on the 24th.
