Softball Recap: Silverado Takes a Loss

Silverado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 23-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Adelanto Saints. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (13), the Hawks still had to take the loss.

Valerie Beltran stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Patino, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Silverado now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Adelanto, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Silverado is set to challenge their familiar foe Barstow at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Adelanto will square off against rival Victor Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
