Football Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Forrest City

Forrest City extended their road winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Kevin Young. The Mustangs blew past the Heber Springs Panthers 52-28 on Friday for which the team can thank Young, who rushed for 149 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 163 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made two total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Another player making a difference was Vonterrious Williams, who picked up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Forrest City is undefeated when Williams posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 2-4 otherwise.

One reason for the win was Forrest City's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jaiden Ware, Frank Crutcher, and Jayveon Appleby, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Forrest City now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Heber Springs, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forrest City will head out to take on Central Arkansas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forrest City will be up against Central Arkansas Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.89 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Heber Springs, they are taking a road trip to challenge Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
