Baseball Recap: Berea Pirates vs. Menifee County Wildcats
Berea won the last time they faced Menifee County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pirates walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Wildcats.

Blake King was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Berea's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Nathan Prophitt was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Berea is 3-1 when Prophitt posts three or more RBI, but 3-4 otherwise. Jackson Schill also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Berea now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Menifee County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

The Pirates are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Menifee County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bourbon County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering the Wildcats have lost three straight at home and the Colonels six straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
