Basketball Recap: Chase Tibbets' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Centennial over Owyhee

Centennial lost against Owyhee back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Centennial Patriots fell to the Owyhee Storm 63-59. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Tibbets, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Johnson, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Centennial is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5. As for Owyhee, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Boise at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Boise likes a good challenge. As for Owyhee, they will take on Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Owyhee is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
